How to do a network reset on an HID EDGE or EDGE EVO device.

Disconnect power to the unit.

  1. Remove the jumper from the “Tamper” (P2) header with a pair of needle-nose pliers.
  2. Place this jumper on the P65 header on the two pins closest to the “Tamper” (P2) header.
  3. Apply power to the unit.
  4. The “System Activity” LED will become solid amber.
  5. With the “System Activity” LED amber, remove the jumper from the P65 header.
  6. Place this jumper back on the P65 header of the two pins closest to the “Tamper” (P2) header after the LED has gone from amber to red OR off.
  7. NOTE 1: Timing of the reinstallation of the jumper is critical otherwise you will need to follow the entire procedure again.
  8. The “System Activity” LED will then again become solid amber.
  9. Remove the jumper and reinstall it on the “Tamper” (P2) header.
  10. The “System Activity” LED will flash briefly, go out, and then within 60 seconds return to the normal green state.
  11. Connect to the unit via the JumpStart application, configured IP Address, or Alias IP Address.
  12. The web browser will prompt for a username and password.
  13. If this is a Solo 1.2 unit, then login with username: admin and the password will be the 8-digit alphanumeric value you obtained from HID Global Technical Support. If using PRE – Solo 1.2 login with username: user and the password will be the 8-digit alphanumeric value you obtained from HID Global Technical Support. If this is an EDGE host unit, the password will be blank on the first login. You must set a new password before logging off.
  14. It is recommend you immediately go and modify the password(s) using the “Password” option within the Installer Settings Tab.

RE-CONFIGURE UNIT

  1. Go into unit via HID discovery
  2. change host IP address to the PC ip address of Access Metrics
  3. change here I am time to 20 seconds
