HID EDGE and EDGE EVO, Knowledge Base

Please follow these steps:

  1. Solo versions 1.2.0.39 and older will only work with Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer 7, and FireFox 2 so be aware of what browser is being utilized when performing the upgrade.
  2. The pkg file needs to be on the computer’s hard drive performing the upgrade, attempting to use a pkg file located on a USB Drive may cause issues.
  3. The upgrade file needs to have the .pkg extension, on occasion the web browser utilized to download the file modifies the file extension to .tar, you will need to rename it from .tar to .pkg in order for it to properly work.
  4. On occasion a unit with SSL enabled can have issues performing the upgrade, you may need to disable SSL, restart the unit, and retry the upgrade.
  5. On occasion a unit with DHCP IP Addressing can have issues performing the upgrade, you may need to set a static IP address, restart the unit, and retry the upgrade.
  6. On occasion a unit will have an alarm outstanding which will prevent the upgrade. Resolve the cause of the alarm, acknowledge the alarm by clicking the Stop Alarm button, and retry the upgrade.
