Uncategorized

This application note describes how to upgrade firmware for HID EVO controllers.

Before you start: make sure that power to device would not be interrupted during the upgrade process. Use a UPS if possible. Despite of all precautions firmware upgrade may fail. If the controller that you are about to upgrade is critically important to the end-user, it is recommended to have a spare unit available.

  1. Download JAVA. http://java.com/en/download/
  2. Stop Access Control System Service and wait 1 minute for it to shut down completely.
  3. Temporarily disable windows firewall.
  4. Use the HID Discovery Tool or pull up a command prompt and use ftp from the command line
  5. FTP into device
  6. Use the command put c:\E400_300.img flash_all_force (assumes this file is in the C directory)
  7. Optionally use the HID Discovery User Interface to load and upload the latest firmware

PLEASE NOT THAT THIS PRODUCT HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED IN 2022 AND IS NO LONGER SUPPORTED.
